Welcome to my DANCE SPACE!
Hi everyone,
My name is Tilly Ludon and I am completing my Bachelor of Education (Primary) at Deakin University in Melbourne. I am currently studying dance in a unit that requires me to create a dance blog, reflecting on tutorials, how they effect me and what I have experienced during this unit.
It has been a wonderful experience and am looking forward to sharing with the world what areas of dance we have explored and how this relates to teaching young students in a mainstream classroom.
Before this course I was a dance teacher at Bodies In Motion Dance School in Far North Queensland, teaching Jazz, Ballet and Hip-Hop. It was an amazing experience and truly miss the inspiring children and the motivation and passion they bring when it comes to performing and exams. After moving down to Melbourne my dancing was moved to the 'if you have enough time and money' pile and so was neglected. I am currently taking casual hip-hop classes at The Space in Prahran and has enjoyed getting back into dancing. This dance unit has brought me so much joy and has encouraged me to implement units of dance into my classroom, combining my two loves-teaching and dance. This course has been truly beneficial in regard to learning dance styles I am not familiar with and taking on teaching techniques for the mainstream classroom and explored dance through expression.
I hope you all enjoy my space and look forward to documenting my experiences.
Tilly
